Kuopio University Hospital (KUH) is responsible for the special care of the Pohjois-Savo region and for the demanding level of treatment in the entire area of special responsibility of KUH (Kuopio University Hospital). KUH Cancer Centre collects the operators in the region’s cancer care and research into one location. Patients are cared for in the units of the organ-targeted operative specialties or at KUH Oncology Center.

Hospital Nova of Central Finland

The Cancer Outpatient Clinic and Drug Treatment Unit are responsible for the treatment of solid tumours and lymphomas in the area of HYVAKS (the Wellbeing Services County of Central Finland). The radiotherapy unit uses three modern radiotherapy devices that enable modern, efficient and safe treatment. The numerous multidisciplinary working groups and collaborative meetings that meet regularly at Hospital Nova take into consideration the patient’s individual cancer care whilst utilising various specialties. The Pathology Unit’s modern gene sequencing method (NGS) enables the design of individual drug therapy for cancer.

North Karelia Central Hospital

The Cancer Centre of Siun Sote (the Wellbeing Services County for North Karelia) is responsible for the treatment of cancer in the region. The responsibility for the treatment of blood diseases rests specifically with the specialisation concerned. The Cancer Centre comprises the drug therapy unit, cancer outpatient clinic and radiotherapy unit. The physicians working with cancer plan the treatment you need, and our outpatient clinic monitors the effectiveness of care, simultaneously treating health problems related to the disease and its treatment.

The Oncology Reception is responsible for the treatment of solid tumours and lymphomas in the Mikkeli region. The reception functions at the Treatment Centre, which also includes the radiotherapy unit. The physicians working in oncology plan the treatment you need, and the reception monitors the effectiveness of care, simultaneously treating health problems related to the disease and its treatment.

Savonlinna Central Hospital

Savonlinna Central Hospital is responsible for diagnosing cancer as well as the implementation and monitoring of treatment in the region Savonlinna. Part of the surgical treatment of cancer patients is performed at the Savonlinna Central Hospital, but the more demanding surgical treatment of cancer patients such as radiotherapy is usually carried out at Kuopio University Hospital. Medical care related to cancer is arranged at the drug treatment unit. The monitoring of cancer patients is organised in specialised outpatient clinics in co-operation with the Oncology Outpatient Clinic.
